When I think of calligraphy, I am reminded of square-nib pens, dotted lines and regimented text. In contrast to that, modern methods are much more about movement and free-flowing lines than they are to be the perfect, strictly-controlled lettering of classic calligraphy. It’s important to note here that classical calligraphy is very different from typography and the methods below are by no means correct in terms of traditional methods – instead, it’s contemporary hand-drawn typography and totally open to interpretation.
