We all know that photo booths are beyond popular when it comes to weddings and parties but did you know that making your own backdrop for one can actually be super simple? We’ve made this giant heart pom pom backdrop that is sure to make a statement, especially teamed with the Paperchase wedding photo booth props! Here’s how you can recreate it…
YOU WILL NEED:
Start by laying out 3 sheets of your tissue paper then folding them into an accordion fold. You’ll want the folds to be about 1.5 – 2 inches wide but it doesn’t have to be perfect.
Next, cut the strip that you now have straight down the middle so that you’re left with two smaller strips of accordion folded tissue paper.
Add your small elastic band over the paper and position it directly in the centre.
Start to pull the layers of tissue paper towards you carefully, one layer at a time.
Repeat until all layers are pulled up on one half of the pom pom.
Repeat with the other side of the pom pom and voila! You now how one perfect and pretty pom pom. Next, repeat with the rest of your tissue paper! We made 30 pom poms in total for this heart back drop.
Place strips of double sided tape onto each of the pom poms and then push them against the wall to secure them in place! We found it easier to create the outline of the heart first and then fill it in with the remaining pom poms.
Now all that’s left to do is jump in front of that backdrop and get snap happy with your photo booth props! So fun right?!
